lizhutson says: My daughter emma was diagnosed type 1 (antibodies present) She has come off insulin via a low carb regime. Her HbA1c was 4.5 last time – normal for a non-diabetic. Her consultant has never asked what she was doing to get the results she did – he never even looked at her. The rest of his patients had far less control over their bg and higher HbA1c. No mainstream doctor has wanted to talk to us about it – even one who was a friend and had T1 Diabetes himself. Bizarre!

mayknmusic says: My daughter is a type 1 diabetic who has been completely insulin FREE for 3 months now. Dr.’s are scratching their heads…swearing she will be back on any time now. So far, we monitor her blood and totally see the difference when she deviates from the paleo diet we are all on now. She is doing amazing. People can live without insulin…even type 1 diabetics. You have nothing to lose by trying….just look up paleo diet. And good luck with your health.

alfa02189 says: Diabetes is a 6 Billion dollar a year industry. They’re never going to find a cure – where’s the money in that? Dr. Neal Barnard says that 1 and 3 children born after the year 2000 will developed Diabetes! Ching, Ching for the drug companies, hospitals and Dr’s. yes, DR’s. they make a lot off of US! . Remember your history when Ike left office in the 1950’s he said “Beware of the military-industrial complex.” Today he would have said “Beware of the pharmaceutical-medical complex.”

Obese teenagers feel like outsiders, like they don’t fit in. There is an alarmingly high number of obese teenagers in the U.S. 15% of the American teens are obese, the number being double compared to twenty years ago.
It seems that these teenagers have tried every possible product or diet which promised them to lose weight but didn’t. So they have turned to surgery. Laparoscopic gastric bypass is the name of the surgery which gained the attention of many teens these days.

This should be definitely on your list of things to watch whether you are or you know a diabetic person or not. Indeed this is more than news in diabetes, this is news for everyone. Might seem like an effort to watch through the whole thing especially if you dislike lots of scientific data but you will be glad you did. Trust me and watch this when you get a chance.
